Week 2, day 4

Lloyd Trigg

• Date of action- 11 August 1943
• Date of award- 2 November 1943

Lloyd was a salesman from New Zealand, he joined the RNZAF in june 1941. 

How he earned the VC- During a operational sortie on 11 august 1943, Lloyd sighted U-468 on the surface. Despite being hit repeatedly by anti-aircraft fire. Trigg pressed home his attack and fatally damaged the german submarine with depth charges. His crippled liberator then crashed into the sea with the loss of all 8 crew. German survivors praised Trigg's courage after they were picked up by an Allied ship.

If I traveled back in time and got to bring treats and yummy food with me to give to the families and children I would probably bring

1. Fruits bursts
2. Lots and lots of chocolate
3. Card games 
4. Good clothes
5. Books

When I read the poem it made feel sad for all those people who died but it also made me feel lucky.

Waka Ama Racing

Would  you like to be in a Waka Ama Race?
Here is a video if you don't know what Waka Ama Racing is. Waka Ama Racing video.

I wouldn't like to be in one, these are my reasons why.

1. You would have to spend a lot of time practising.

2. You also have to spend time in for fitness and strengthen.

3. It would be very hard work!

Maui and the Giant Fish

Here are 3 facts that I found out in the book Maui and the Giant fish . . .

1. Maui has older brothers.

2. Maui made his own fishing line out of flax and a Jaw bone.

3. Maui caught a giant fish that is now known as the North Island.

My Narrative - Ninja Pony

NINJA PONY

“HIYA! Take that, and that and . . . . THAT!! Oh yeah baby, defeated again, LOSERS! Ha Ha.” It was 5 past 1 in the morning and once again Pinkie Poo was sleep talking. Just like you, everybody thought that Pinkie Poo was a strange and funny name, even stranger that she was black. All black. Even stranger that her Dam and Sire are serious, all the time.  Nobody knew how the filly got the name, not even her parents. The Moo family lived in PonyVille, Mongolia, with most of the other horses and ponies.

One thing before we move on, Pinkie Poo Moo wanted to be a Ninja Pony, except, she was TERRIBLE at it. She thought that she was EXCELLENT at it. When ever she was showing off her ‘Karate moves’, everybody lied and said she was great at it because otherwise she got furious. Also she had already planned it all out, apparently, her Ninja name would be dun dun dun . . . Night Pony. Pinkie Poo was such a drama queen and if you said or did one wrong move, she would show her dark side and screech, “Watch out, Pinkie Poo Moo coming through!!”

Her Dam sent her to all of the Karate class’ there were around but she still didn’t get any better. When the family were about to give up hope, her Dam, Sire and Pinkie Poo traveled all the way to China. There were going to The Valley of Peace. Pinkie Poo, or Night Pony, was going to get lessons from the Furious Five. Pinkie Poo Moo was a MASSIVE fan of the Furious Five. This was the order she liked them in, Po, Tigress, then Viper, Monkey and Mantis were tied.

The Moo family were going to stay with Panda Family in Silver Coast. Silver Coast is an hour away from The Valley of Peace. There was Dusty the mother, Midnight the Father and Cuddles the 6 year old daughter. Cuddles wants to be a famous singer, but she's bad just like Pinkie Poo and her Karate. The Panda family lived in a town with lots of pandas, just PonyVille. Their town was surrounded by hills and not far away was a beach. When the Moo family arrived, Cuddles was outside playing with her FAVOURITE figures. The Night Panda. Her fav band. Ever. The horses had walked to the house. Cuddles gave them a warm greeting and took them inside.

The next day was going to be Pinkie Poo’s first lesson. Her Dam walked her back to The Valley of Peace. For Pinkie Poo’s Dam, it was a very loooooooooong trip because apparently Pinkie Poo needed to ‘transform’ into Night Pony. To ‘transform’ into Night Pony you had to do slow mo Karate moves all the way to The Valley of Peace while going “HAAAAAAA, YAAAAA WHOOOOAAAA” also in slow mo. When they were FINALLY there, Tigress, Monkey, Crane, Mantis and Viper were waiting for them at the bottom of the 108 stairs. They talked to them while they stumbled up the stairs. They also told them that Po didn’t want to come down because he hates walking back up them. The first lesson was complete. Night Ponies Dam had gone back to Silver Coast because Night Pony was going to stay with the Furious Five and Po.

The Moo Family decided to buy a house in Silver Coast because out of the blue Pinkie Poo was now apart of the Furious 5! (Although now they have to change it to the Furious 7 because Po also joined).  Pinkie Poo is now called  Night Pony and only just made it into the Furious 5, she is still a drama queen and still is stupid sometimes. It turned out that she had to learn Kung Fu to get into the Furious 5. She now always plodded around the house when she was bored screeching “ Now I’m Kung Fu Fighting, Ha Hi Ya and I’m as fast as lightning, Ha Hi Ya, although it's a little bit frightning, Ha Hi Ya” You want some lessons?” Cuddles always asked.  It's a good thing she is in the Furious 7 now because she still gets FURIOUS. Cuddles turned out to be quite good at her singing dream, Dusty and Midnight are very proud of her just like Night Ponies Dam and Sire. “HIYA, CHA, YAA!!” “OHHHH, I think that's the Furious 5 training!” (It was actually just her tripping and falling over the training equipment).

In the bush is where I grow where green and brown colours swallow the mush

In the bush I am the size as a ruby ball

which means I’m quite small

In the bush with rough and delicate leaves I shall rip quite easily

In the bush I am a curvy triangle, like the leaves, the flax and sometimes the trees

While I blow in the breeze and the bush talks, Fweesh, shhh, Fwesh

my fury stalk extends, I may not have many jobs,

But I love to represent New Zealand with each leaf I grow

Persuasive writing

What is the best pet, Horses or dogs?

Both Horses and Dogs can make great pets.  There are bad and good aspects about them.  I will now discuss the pros and cons about them both.

Primarily horses can be a great pet for children and families. They can be great for children because they can be gentle.  Furthermore horses can make great pets because you can ride them around for awhile, you can sometimes trot and canter.  However horses take a lot of caring for though because you have give them, walks, hoof picking, brushing and some others. Also Horses can be very expensive.

Primarily Dogs can also make great family pets. You can take them for swims and walks.  In addition Dogs can be helpful because they can bring stuff to you. You can also play with dogs like fetch. However Dogs have to be trained because otherwise they can pick up bad habits.

I will now remind you of some of the stuff that I have told you, if you are looking for a playful family pet you might want to pick a dog, if you are looking for a calm pet you might want to pick a horse. Because of this I think dogs are better because they are playful and you can take them down to the river or beach for a swim.
