Here are 3 facts that I found out in the book Maui and the Giant fish . . .
1. Maui has older brothers.
2. Maui made his own fishing line out of flax and a Jaw bone.
3. Maui caught a giant fish that is now known as the North Island.
I also know the story 'Maui and the Sun.'
Hi Jessica,
ReplyDeleteGood job, you have found some very good information from the story. Perhaps it would be interesting to tell your reader how many brothers Maui had if you can find this information.
What sort of jaw bone did Maui use to make his fishing line? It must have been a very big one if he could catch the whole of the North Island! That's very impressive!
Good to hear you know the 'Maui and the Sun' story as well, could you tell me what that story is about?
I look forward to reading more of your blog.
Cheers,
Ruby.
Hi Ruby
DeleteThanks for all of your feedback. The Story Maui and the Sun is about . . . A long time ago when the moon stayed up all day and night so Maui and his brothers made a plan to capture the sun and pull it up out of a big hole where it stay (Kind of like its little home), they tied a rope from the sun to the moon and made them go around again so they would pull each other other up when its time. Thats about it.
I can't wait to check out your blog!
Bye for now! Jess

ReplyDeleteThanks for telling me about that story! That one is a really good one too.
Do you have a favourite story between "Maui and the Great Fish" and "Maui and the Sun"?
Cheers,
Ruby.
