SLJ WWF

Week: 1
Day: 3
Activity: 3

One of the animals that the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) is helping to save is the Saimaa Ringed Seal. There are only around 360 left.  These Seals give birth in lairs that they dig into snow banks. Without these snowbanks they will give birth to pups on open snow which is in many ways dangerous for the pup. So what the WWF is doing to help these seals is building snowbanks for them. I think that this is a good way to help the Saimaa Ringed Seal.Image result for saimaa ringed seal

  3. Hi Jess,

The WWF are doing a fantastic job at help this endangered species. It is great that is also seems to be making a difference. It is good to see that the numbers of pups that survive with the help of the WWF.
You can see why it has the name that it does with the rings on the back of the seal. Sounds really cold living and having a pup in an ice cave. I suppose it is just like an igloo.

I hope that you are having a great holiday and have some fun things planned. Another great day here on the coast today!

    Keep up the good work!

    Until next time

    Allie :)
