The 2 plants that I picked are the Corpse Flower and the Welwitschia mirabilis. They don't have many things in common but there are lots of differences like the Welwitschia mirabilis has males and females and can live from 500 to 1,500 years old. The Corpse Flower is protected and only blooms every 40 years.

ReplyDeleteWhat two very interesting plants you have chosen. I didn't realise that there were so many weird plants in the world. Imagine calling something a corpse plant, that is really strange. This is the one that also smells really bad too.
They live for such a long time too. If it lives for 1500 years that is as old as Tane Mahuta is. And that would be one of the oldest living tress in New Zealand.
I do have to say that they are quite ugly too. Don't you think?
